Are you prone to diseases and fatigue?

An acidic body provides an atmosphere that cancer and other diseases can grow and thrive in. Whereas healthy cells have a higher pH value and therefore need a balanced pH environment for its survival. You also feel more tired as your acidity level increases.

How do you test your body acidity level?

There are 2 ways to use litmus paper or universal indicator to test out how acidity your body is. Each litmus paper or universal indicator can be used only once. The optimal pH value for both tests should be between 6.8 to 7.2.

Saliva Test : Wait for 2 hours after eating. Then fill up your mouth with saliva and  swallow it. Repeat the movement twice to ensure your saliva is clean.  Wet the litmus paper with your saliva. Note down the color change and obtain the pH value.

Urine Test : Test your urine first thing in the morning. This urine has been stored in your bladder during the whole night. You need to wet a strip of litmus paper with your urine, note the color change and record down the pH number.

What do you do if your pH value is lower than 6.8?

If your urine or saliva pH value is lower than 6.8, your body is within the acidic range. This means you are deficient in alkaline buffers. In order to balance the pH of your body, you need to move away from acidic foods and begin taking lots of alkaline food like green vegetables, low sugar fruits and healthy polyunsaturated fats. If you have a busy life, you can use Supergreen powder as a replacement of your green vegetables and fruits. You also need to drink alkaline water instead of acidic drinks to hydrate and flush out the acid from your body.

What do you do if your pH is higher than 7.2?

What makes up an alkaline diet?

Alkalizing foods is make up of mainly green colored vegetables and potatoes as they are rich in alkaline elements and contain little if any acid substances. More importantly, these food do not produce acids when they are utilized by the body. Some of the examples :

  • Green vegetables, raw or cooked
  • Avocado
  • Bananas
  • Chestnuts

What are acidic food?

Acids are defined as substances that release hydrogen ions when dissolved in water. Some acids give off more hydrogen ions than others. Some examples of the acidic food:

  • Meat including chicken, pork products, beef, turkey
  • Fruit Juices
  • Honey
  • Unripe fruits
  • Alcohol
  • Simple carbs, including bread, pasta, potatoes and baked goods
  • Drinks like coke, coffee, soda
  • Mushroom
  • MSG

Tips on eating an alkaline diet

  • Eat lots of vegetables.
  • Squeeze lemon or lime into water as a beverage.
  • Try to eat 1 cup of alkalinizing greens daily, such as kale, mustard greens, or broccoli.
  • Drink enough alkaline water.
  • Choose fish and lamb over beef.
  • Use olive oil instead of vegetable oils.
  • Drink Supergreens.
  • Try to avoid eggs, milk and yeast.
